Champion Bay Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated engagement specialist in the role of Teacher – Education Support to assist students to maximise their potential, both at school and into the future.
The major role for the successful applicant will be to work with senior school students to engage with their schooling. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in developing senior school engagement programs that have had successful outcomes for intended students.
As the successful applicant, you will be able to use student data to identify program candidates, and liaise with parents and community to meet the educational and care needs of the students. You will possess outstanding interpersonal skills and have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider school community.
The successful applicant will support the implementation of the school business plan, to work and teach in a team environment, be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives and have a strong evidence based approach to teaching. The learning environment that you create will be caring, differentiated, challenging and will cater for the learning needs of intended students.
Our broad curriculum offers pathways leading to attainment of an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), to Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications or future employment.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
