Toodyay District High School (DHS) is seeking a well organised, passionate and experienced Primary School Teacher for our school.
High Quality Teaching and Learning is a priority at our school. The successful applicant will have exemplary skills in teaching primary years. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills with a commitment to building a positive and inclusive learning environment with students, parents and colleagues. They will have a well-defined set of behaviour management skills and have the capacity to build relationships with students in a differentiated classroom environment.
The applicant would benefit from a strong understanding of students with autism. A knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Zones of Regulation will be well regarded as both of these programs are embedded across the school.
Toodyay DHS is a medium sized District High School that has supportive staff. Toodyay DHS, 85kms east of Perth, Western Australia, in the historic Avon Valley caters for Kindergarten to Year 10 students.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:

Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
