This is a thirty-six (36) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2021
Fitzroy Valley District High School is seeking a highly competent and experienced Primary Physical Education Teacher to join our dedicated teaching team.
As the Primary Physical Education Teacher at Fitzroy Valley DHS, you will be required to possess excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Health and Physical Education Curriculum and the ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of the individual students. You will be required to teach Physical Education, Sports and Health to Primary school students Years K-6, as well as promote healthy active lifestyles.
We are seeking an individual who has outstanding organisational and coordination skills. We are seeking someone who is able to work well in a team, build a positive rapport with both staff and students and contribute at a whole school level. You will be expected to be able to contribute towards positive student outcomes for our primary student cohort.
Fitzroy Valley DHS is situated in the picturesque Fitzroy Valley in the scenic Kimberley region of Western Australia. The town of Fitzroy Crossing is situated on the banks of the Fitzroy River and lends itself to the outdoor adventure lifestyle. Many camping and fishing spots such as Geikie Gorge and Tunnel Creek are situated close by. Fitzroy Crossing is located 380kms to the regional tourist attraction of Broome. Fitzroy Valley DHS is a Department of Education Remote Community School.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:

Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
