Advertised Vacancy Number: SS/TCH646288
This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2021
Bencubbin Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher – Primary to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and collaboration skills and will have a thorough knowledge of the Western Australian curriculum. This knowledge will be utilised to effectively deliver differentiated education programs in a multi-age, cross-curricular setting. The ability to work effectively in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects will be advantageous. Knowledge of programs including Talk 4 Writing, Spelling Mastery and Go Maths, is desirable. An enthusiasm for sustainability practices and the ability to participate in the school’s ‘Waste Wise’ sustainability project would be looked upon favourably.
Bencubbin PS is located in the Wheatbelt, 279kms east of Perth in the Mt Marshall Shire. Bencubbin is a predominantly rural farming community comprised of vast cropping land, as well as sheep and cattle farms. Many students who attend the school live on farms, with others living within the Bencubbin townsite. Student numbers in the high twenties mean that we run multi-age classes of between ten and fifteen students. At Bencubbin PS we endeavour to create the conditions for children to thrive and do this through a ‘whole child’ approach to primary school education. We believe that every child matters and through a safe and nurturing learning environment, we seek to meet the needs of all students at our school.
Central to our success is our ability to partner with parents and the wider community. We value these partnerships and the important role they play in growing our children and supporting our school. We strive to work collaboratively with neighbouring schools and surrounding towns to ensure greater opportunities for our staff and students. Crucial to this success is ensuring that our school culture promotes high expectations, pastoral care and a commitment to our community.
Our educational program focuses on literacy and numeracy development, an integrated HASS curriculum, and an increasing focus on STEM. Digital Technologies are being utilised as tools for learning and our small class sizes allow us to focus on the learning needs of each child with differentiated learning programs. Staff strive to develop engaging environments and learning programs that inspire creativity, encourage imagination and challenge students to be innovative thinkers. It is important to us that each child feels happy, valued and academically challenged when they are at school.
