Lesmurdie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Performing Arts (Dance) and Visual Arts teacher who is responsive to change and can cater for the learning styles of future-ready students. You will have a proven ability to facilitate the development of independent and confident learners, have evidence of leadership skills in undertaking performance presentations as well as other school initiatives and be willing to join our team of like-minded professionals.
You will work collaboratively with all members of the school and wider community to provide quality educational experiences through promoting the school’s vision and strategic directions. Specifically, you will be student and relationship focussed, be able to provide engaging and meaningful learning, as well as assisting to develop an enriched Arts curriculum and profile of the Arts Learning Area.
The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery and programs within the Dance context and Visual Arts context in the Arts Learning Area. This includes Lower and Senior School Dance, ‘Boys’ Dance programs and Lower School Visual Arts. You will have thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum design whilst keeping abreast of the latest focus areas and developments within the Learning Area. You will be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment, underpinning our core values; Curiosity, Aspiration, Respect and Environment

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
