Are you a highly skilled and passionate Brass Teacher?
Instrumental Music School Services is seeking to establish a pool of Music Teachers – Brass for appointments to fixed term, part-time, full-time and permanent vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year. Suitable applicants must possess high levels of teaching and performance competence on multiple Brass Instruments.
Candidates must embrace the opportunity to work with a positive approach in a variety of school environments. The successful applicants will be required to teach in small groups, a range of students from years 5 – 12 in a number of schools within the metropolitan area. As a Brass teacher, you will be expected to teach to the WA Curriculum, IMSS Brass Curriculum and conduct ensembles in some schools. Suitable applicants should be able to work independently, exhibit a growth mindset, energy and passion for the subject and to be highly skilled at performance on Brass instruments. We are seeking teachers with excellent communication and ICT skills.
There is a particularly close collegial relationship amongst staff that allows for significant professional growth as a teacher and musician. Suitable applicants will be proficient in teaching and performance of Brass instruments as well as conducting bands. The ability to teach other instruments is also highly regarded.

Instrumental Music School Services delivers instrumental music teaching to public schools throughout the state of WA. Eligibility
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;

Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
