This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2021
Merredin College is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join the school community in the role of Teacher – Design and Technology – Metals and Woodwork.
As the successful applicant, you will have the ability to work collaboratively with others, engage positively with students and strive to meet their different learning needs. You will have knowledge, and preferably experience in the Western Australian Design and Technology curriculum to effectively design and deliver learning programs in an engaging way to students in Years 7 to 12.
Located 256 kilometres east of Perth in the Central Wheatbelt, Merredin College is a lighthouse rural school providing a high quality, seamless educational program for approximately 550 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
Merredin College has a purpose built Trade Training Centre suitable for Metals with the Design & Technology Room scheduled to be fully refurbished term 4, 2020.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
