This is a fixed-term full-time position twelve (12) months with possible extension twelve (12) months commencing Term 1, 2021
There are two (2), twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time positions with possible extension and/or permanency positions available on completion of this process, both commencing term 1, 2021.
Lesmurdie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Teacher - Physical Education who is responsive to change and can cater for the learning styles of future ready students.
You will work collaboratively with all members of the school and wider community to provide quality educational experiences through promoting the school’s vision and strategic directions. Specifically, you will be student and relationship focussed, be able to provide engaging and meaningful learning, as well as assisting to develop an enriched HPE curriculum and profile of the HPE Learning Area.
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be relationship focussed, able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning. You will be innovative, knowledgeable and possess thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum expertise whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area. You will be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment, underpinning our core values; Curiosity, Aspiration, Respect and Environment.
- The suitable applicant will teach Lower School Health and Physical Education subjects across Years 7-10 as well as General and/or ATAR courses in Outdoor Education, Health Studies or Physical Education Studies.
- Qualification to deliver Certificate II and III Sport and Recreation is highly desirable.
- Roping, Water, Mountain Biking, Camping, First Aid, Bronze Medallion qualifications and a bus licence are highly desirable.
- Recent experience and a commitment to organise and manage camps, health curriculum, whole school and/or year group carnivals and events are also an advantage.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:

Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
