Appointment Pool
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
This pool will be used to fill a number of potential permanent and fixed term vacancies over the next 12 months. We are likely to have a number of roles ranging from curriculum leadership, vibrant and capable early childhood classroom teachers and for all other years.
Suitable applicants will be responsible for planning, presenting and assessing challenging and engaging programs that are evidence based and make best use of contemporary learning tools. They will work collaboratively in teams to meet the targets and milestones set out in the Business Plan. Suitable applicants may be curriculum leaders looking for opportunities to lead in areas of skill and interest.
Craigie Heights PS is an Independent Public School, located in the northern suburbs. There are 419 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our specialist programs include: Music, Visual Arts, Science, Physical Education and Indonesian. There is a strong focus on strong academic progress for each student and an emphasis on effective pastoral care for staff and students. Professional growth for teachers is based on classroom observation and guided self-reflection supported by targeted professional learning. There is a strong element of philanthropy woven into the fabric of the school culture.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
