Seeking dedicated and passionate educators to join our expanding team
At Halls Head College we have some exciting opportunities in 2021 for dynamic and highly effective Teachers of Health & Physical Education (HPE) to continue the development of the Sports Academy and Outdoor Education programs that are delivered within the college.
We are seeking to establish a pool of HPE Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements up to the end of Term 4, 2021.
The successful candidates will have a strong background in Basketball, Football (AFL), Netball or Outdoor Education, where they:
- Are presently active in their chosen specialised area, applying current and up to date knowledge and trends.
- Have experience in organising and operating carnivals, excursions and events.
- Have established community links with relevant sporting associations and clubs.
- For Basketball/Netball/Football (AFL); experience in coaching (at or above association level), with relevant coaching accreditations.
- For Outdoor Education; experience in teaching water and land based activities with relevant qualifications that meet the current Outdoor Education and Recreation Activities for Public Schools Policy.
- Preferably hold a current Certificate IV in TAE and active bus license.

Specifically, you will be student and relationship focussed, be able to provide engaging and meaningful learning, as well as assisting to develop an enriched Health and Physical Education (HPE) curriculum and profile of the HPE Learning Area

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;

Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
