Appointment Pool
Forrestdale PS is seeking to establish pool of Year 3 to Year 6 teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
Suitable applicants will have high expectations and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment. You will possess the ability to work as a collaborative team member and will be committed to the development of strong professional learning communities focussed on student achievement and success.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess effective Explicit Instruction skills in teaching literacy and numeracy content and cater for a class with mixed ability students. You should also be able to exhibit suitable proactive behaviour-shaping strategies that support positive student outcomes in and out of the classroom, and an interpersonal skill-set that enables you to build strong and valuable relationships with students, staff and parents.
It would also be highly desirable for applicants to be knowledgeable in whole-school approaches to teaching and learning including one or more specific programs such as: imaths, Talk for Writing, Sound Waves and Literacy Pro. As a teacher at our school, you will be committed to ongoing professional growth by embracing new, evidence-informed teaching and learning practices that lead to teacher improvement and superior student outcomes. You will desirably possess a strong knowledge of how to use Information Communication Technology (ICT), Digital Technologies and teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) skills and core competencies to engage students.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
