Australind Senior High School (SHS) are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic English teacher to join their school.
Ideally, the successful applicant will possess excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills and promote an environment of active and positive learning. You will be required to work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students within a vibrant and collaborative English Department. It would be highly desirable for the successful applicant to have the capacity to deliver highly engaging programs that are relevant to our Year 7 to 12 student needs.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience utilising differentiated teaching practices within the classroom. You should possess skills and strategies that support the development of the English curriculum across both upper school and lower school classes of varied abilities.
The care we offer each and every student defines our purpose. We have a rigorous student services program which has been set up to ensure all our students are well cared for socially, emotionally, physically and academically.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
