Appointment Pool
We currently have multiple positions to appoint to for Term 1, 2021. These positions consist of both permanent and fixed term appointments.
Melville Senior High School (MSHS) is seeking to establish a pool of passionate, dynamic and highly skilled Mathematics Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies commencing term 1, 2021 and that may arise throughout the 2021 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year.
Suitable applicants will be dedicated and intrinsically motivated educators with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants should already have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to teach students of varying ability levels across Year 7 – 12 in a highly engaging manner.
Strong knowledge and skills in the teaching of one or more of the following courses or program areas is advantageous: Year 11 and/or 12 Specialist, Methods, Applicable Mathematics and Gifted and Talented.
Suitable applicants will also have a strong working knowledge of teaching strategies to support numeracy skills development and strong performance in National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). At MSHS we are committed to improving the literacy and numeracy skills of our students in lower school to support their achievement across the Year 7 - 10 curriculum and to provide a solid platform for their success in both General and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level courses in Senior School. Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of Information Communication Technology (ICT) into classroom teaching and learning is also desirable. Suitable applicants will have the required knowledge and skills to scaffold difficult concepts, apply a range of engaging teaching strategies and develop a positive classroom learning environment, that fosters in students a genuine passion for Mathematics and the desire to achieve their best.
Suitable applicants will possess the necessary skills to work collaboratively as part of a team to maximise learning outcomes for students and to support ongoing school improvement. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
