The Teacher Registration directorate is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed individual to job share this position.
The Strategic Analyst (Project Officer) leads and develops a range of projects to support teacher registration services and reviews and evaluates existing information systems and resources to promote alignment with the requirements and governance of teacher education regulatory activities. This position has a role in the review of current work processes by analysing existing and proposed methods and processes to assess compliance and recommend improvement action as appropriate. This positon has a key role in developing, reviewing and completing the quality assurance of policies, processes, work flow charts and forms relevant to teacher registration and accreditation of initial teacher education programs.
As this vacancy is a job-share arrangement, we are seeking a self-starter who has strong organisational skills, good attention to detail and the ability to be flexible and to work within a diverse team on a number of projects.
The successful applicant will be confident with working on a range of initiatives to support business system improvements and client centred communications. This may be a role for you if you are a good communicator, work collaboratively within and across teams, have excellent writing skills and are comfortable using a quality improvement approach in the work environment.

- reviews Directorate work processes by analysing existing and proposed methods and processes and advises of departures from compliance procedures and standards
- develops, reviews and completes quality assurance of policies, processes, work flow charts and forms relevant to teacher registration and accreditation of initial teacher education programs
- prepares and recommends proposals to revise methods and procedures and alter work flows and liaises with senior management to coordinate subsequent process improvement projects
- assists in implementing approved recommendations, issuing revised policy and processes, and drafts associated documentation
- contributes to and prepares reports, Board briefing notes, Ministerial responses, correspondence and other documentation relating to teacher registration
- assists with TRBWA website administration ensuring website content and navigation is regularly reviewed and fit for purpose.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Demonstrated well-developed analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to analyse and evaluate complex business processes against strategic objectives.
- Considerable business analysis experience with demonstrated ability to research systems, understand business requirements, review business processes and to interpret, apply and comply with legislation and policy frameworks.
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal and communication skills to undertake productive consultation, collaboration and negotiation and to build effective relationships with stakeholders on projects supporting teacher registration services.
- Demonstrated substantial experience in achieving outcomes and delivering quality products and services consistent with stakeholder needs and using a quality assurance approach.
- Demonstrated well developed skills in project management or project activities, including the ability to identify timeframes for projects, resources required to complete tasks and plan contingencies.
- Demonstrated well developed written communication skills, including experience in preparing reports, briefing papers and responses to high level correspondence.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
