This is a sixteen (16) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2020 with possible extension and/or permanency.
Alkimos Beach Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced Visual Arts teacher who is flexible and willing to work collaboratively with staff, as well as connect with the school community to achieve the best outcomes for all students.
We are looking for a committed, professional and collaborative teacher who is able to work effectively in teams. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills in order to develop effective relationships with students, staff and parents. They will engage and collaborate with teachers and teaching teams to support the integration of Visual and Media Arts with the English and Technologies Curriculum, as well as other curriculum areas.

The successful applicant will need to have a pedagogical approach that supports our vision. We are seeking a reflective, motivated teacher who is dedicated to ongoing professional learning. The successful applicant will have the skills and experience to provide a high quality teaching and learning program to meet the needs of the students while addressing the targets of the school.
Alkimos Beach PS, located approximately 45km from Perth, opened in 2017 catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are a school with strong values and are committed to developing a highly engaging and dynamic learning program for students.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
