Appointment Pool
Mindarie Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and engaging Early Childhood teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2021.

Suitable applicants will be guided by the 2019-2021 Business Plan which outlines the targets and milestones the community have agreed upon. They will be committed to whole school approaches, and have the ability to demonstrate knowledge and application of programs such as ‘Words Their Way’, ‘Talk4Writing’ and iMaths for the teaching of spelling, writing and mathematics. In addition, a demonstrated capacity to utilise assessment tools such as PM Benchmarks and Brightpath would be desirable. The successful applicant will value collaborative planning in year level teams to develop consistent, quality learning programs, and engage in rigorous analysis of student data, continually monitor the impact of your teaching on student learning and be willing to try new, innovative ways to engage students.

As Mindarie PS is a Teacher Development School with a proven capacity to provide professional learning and share expertise with colleagues across Western Australia. As teachers at Mindarie PS provide face to face and on line professional learning in the areas of Mathematics, English and the use of SEN planning, a proven capacity to develop others would be expected in successful candidates.
There is an expectation that successful applicants will have highly developed ICT and digital technologies skills in programs such as Connect, Seesaw, SEQTA and WebEx.
Mindarie PS is a Visible Learning school. In order for staff to effectively work at Mindarie Primary they will ideally demonstrate an awareness of how to measure the impact their teaching has on students’ progress and achievement and how they can develop visible learners through the use of clear learning intentions and success criteria.
Mindarie PS is a dynamic learning community catering for students from Kindergarten through to Year Six. The suburb of Mindarie is a seaside suburb located approximately 35 km north of the Central Business District of Perth in the Shire of Wanneroo. Mindarie PS’s core curriculum has a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and science. Specialist programs operate in the following areas: Science, Physical Education, Music, Visual Arts and Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) for academically talented students in Years 4-6.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
