Finance and Commercial Services Division is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Manager, Community Services Contracting in the Commercial Services Directorate.
The Manager, Community Services Contracting will lead the contract planning and establishment of community services contracts to support schools and their broader communities and provide advice and recommendations on complex issues related to community services contract planning, management and policy to ensure informed decisions are made to optimise contracting outcomes.
The successful applicant will provide community services contract planning and management training as required and be responsible for ensuring Department processes reflect the latest developments in community services contracting frameworks, policies, standards and compliance.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- High-level knowledge of Government procurement policies, issues and strategic directions, principally in relation to community services contracting.
- High-level skills and experience in complex, high-risk contract development and/or contract management, principally in relation to community services contracting.
- Strategic leadership skills in managing human, physical, financial, technological and information resources and in coordinating and delivering effective strategic outcomes.
- High-level verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with key internal and external stakeholders at a senior level and to build strong relationships.
- High-level skills and experience in achieving outcomes and delivering quality products and services consistent with customer needs and defined quality expectations, including timeliness.
- High-level analytical and conceptual skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
