Baldivis Gardens Primary School (PS) is seeking a Teacher – Science Specialist to join our highly unique team.
Having firmly established our Science program and developed a detailed planning and assessment system, we are seeking to appoint an exemplary teacher with a passion for Science to join our team. The successful applicant will be mentored by the current Specialist Science Teacher to ensure the high level of professionalism and specialist needs of this role are met. This is an opportunity to move into an established Science program gaining invaluable professional learning by working alongside this very experienced and talented teacher.
The successful applicant will foster student curiosity and inspire a love of science for all students at their individual levels and will collaborate and work closely with staff and the administration team, demonstrating our core values and FISH philosophy. They would also utilise the opportunity for hands on learning experiences and encourage students to ask questions and seek answers through experimentation and observation. The successful applicant will also encourage the use of scientific vocabulary in their teaching to enhance the communication skills of students.
The successful applicant will also provide students with a strong level of support to achieve their best. In this role, they would also insist on providing high work standards and making connections with prior learning in the science curriculum to build a richer understanding of science.
Baldivis Gardens (PS) is a Level 5 primary school in the suburb of Baldivis. This is our fourth year of operation and we are well respected in the area for providing high quality education in a caring and nurturing environment.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
