Leinster Community School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher – Secondary Generalist.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to create an effective, engaging and inclusive learning environment based on high expectations. They will have an understanding of appropriate assessments, and be able to use data to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs, set targets and plan for differentiated learning opportunities for all students in their class. The successful applicant will teach a combination of subject areas of either Maths, English, HASS or Science.
Currently our students engage with SIDE and all of their learning is via distance education. The school is looking to trial a model of some face to face teaching and additional SIDE, dependent on the skillset of the applicant. There is an element of flexibility in the position and the successful applicant can negotiate their teaching load at the school. Our current enrolment of secondary students is ten students from years 7-12. We are expecting a similar number of students in 2021
Leinster Community School is a supportive team environment where everyone works towards a shared vision. Leinster is located in the Northern Goldfields of Western Australia. It is a closed mining town where the school supports the students of mine workers in the region. There is the opportunity to fly in and out of the community. The community is well resourced with an IGA, hairdresser, beautician, swimming pool, gym and tavern.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
