Bridgetown High School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and innovative Program Coordinator committed to achieving outstanding educational outcomes for students in Years 9 and 10..
The successful applicant will demonstrate commitment to supporting student achievement through a positive and hands on approach to student health, wellbeing and engagement as well as exhibit the capacity to support the school’s teaching and learning strategies, working in partnership with staff to develop teacher capacity across the school’s instructional framework. This will include the development of an evidence based, high impact teaching and learning strategy. The successful applicant will be flexible and possess exceptional organisational skills.
Developing strong and productive working relationships with leaders, teachers, students and other stakeholders is central to this role with an emphasis on building trust and collaboration.
As Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading the monitoring and reporting of students at educational risk in relation to, but not limited to, attendance, engagement, social/emotional wellbeing and academic achievement. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to motivate and lead by example. A strong pastoral care ethos is desired.
You will be required to provide support to all staff in the area of student wellbeing and work in a collaborative team in order to meet all School Curriculum and Standards Authority requirements through various strategies such as targeted intervention and student case management. Strong knowledge of Department attendance procedures and having led the implementation of the Department’s Attendance Tool Kit are highly recommended.
Bridgetown High School is located 270kms south of Perth on the Blackwood River in the South West region of Western Australia and proudly meets the needs of local students in Years 7 – 10.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs);
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
