Southern River College (SRC) is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) teacher committed to achieving outstanding educational outcomes for all students in our culturally diverse school.
As part of your standard practice, you will reflect on and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practices using a variety of methods available within the school. You will actively engage in classroom observation and reflection, and use this to inform your practice. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, be a collaborative team member and a progressive thinker. You will provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential, creating and promoting an environment conducive to active learning. You will have an in-depth understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum in Humanities as well as backwards mapping senior school ATAR courses.
As the successful applicant, you will be highly motivated; student and relationship focused and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences. You will utilise innovative initiatives and be able to work effectively within a dynamic team. This will involve you reflecting and assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and cultivating a safe learning environment. You will utilise evidence based teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to instil rigour, resilience and pride, allowing students to achieve to their full potential.

The college operates a general education program Year 7 to Year 12 plus an Inspire Future Learning Academic Program, Vocational Education, STEM and MESH options and Inspire programs in Music, Netball and Soccer. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
