Bannister Creek Primary School is seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2021.
The suitable applicant will be a proactive, innovative school leader with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. They will work collaboratively with the administrative and staff teams and be cognisant of current research and trends in learning and teaching, with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education (ECE).
To be considered for this leadership position, applicants would ideally possess the ability to provide educational leadership in Student Services including disability resourcing, Students at Educational Risk (SAER) processes, SEN reporting and the Aboriginal Cultural Framework. This position will have a specific range of responsibilities including building the capacity of the Early Childhood teaching teams and supporting the development of whole school connected practices. Supporting ECE teachers to create intentional and play based learning programs in line with the NQS and EYLF/Australian Curriculum requirements will be an important part of this role. Recent teaching experience in Early Childhood classes is an advantage in this position. Please note there will be an ECE teaching component in this Deputy role.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
