Beacon Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a hard working Cleaner – Working Alone to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will be a motivated and proactive person who takes pride in being responsible for providing a high standard of cleanliness within the workplace and to ensure school facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Department procedures. It is expected that the Cleaner – Working Alone will be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and have knowledge of Department of Education Cleaning Policies and Procedures.
Beacon PS is a small, vibrant school located in the north-eastern wheatbelt, catering for students from Kindergarten - Year 6. We have a strong history, where our school and the community work together to provide an education that meets the needs of individual students, and provides the foundation for each student's future education. Our students are our main priority and delivering an environment of High Performance and High Care is always at the forefront of what we do.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete the Department’s online training in manual tasks and hazardous substances within three months of commencement
- Complete Fundamentals of Cleaning training as soon as practicable
- Complete any other training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a ten (4) day breach period to this selection process.
