Butler College is seeking an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Careers Education in Years 7 – 12, to join its friendly and professional Senior School Services team.
The successful applicant will demonstrate current knowledge of Career Education practices and have the capacity to work closely with the Manager of VET and Careers to develop and implement a curriculum that is embedded throughout the college. As the successful applicant you will have the capacity to plan and deliver career activities for students across Years 7 – 12 and support staff to do so. You will work closely with students and the appropriate stakeholders to provide career information and demonstrate the ability to develop and implement school wide programs in the area of Career Education.
The successful application will have a high level of written and oral communication skills and work to build capacity and understanding, by providing staff with the skills and knowledge to successfully embed Career Education across all learning areas throughout the college. Knowledge and/or experience of Vocational Education and Training within a secondary education environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
