Appointment Pool
Busselton Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
The responsibilities of this role include carrying out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning. In addition to this, you would also perform external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs, other general cleaning and other such duties as required by the Cleaner-In-Charge.
Busselton SHS is situated in a coastal holiday town in the South West of Western Australia. The school was established in 1958 and has served the community for over 50 years. Busselton SHS has a proud history with fine traditions in place, created by the various student bodies over time, along with a loyal dedicated staff. A new and invigorated administrative and executive team are building upon our past achievements. As an Independent Public School, our challenge is to plan for educational change in a rapidly evolving and growing community. We aim to provide educational relevance and opportunities for students within the town. Concurrently, the traditions and history of the school need to be honoured and preserved.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete the Department’s online training in manual tasks and hazardous substances within three months of commencement;
- Complete Fundamentals of Cleaning training as soon as practicable;
- Complete any other training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a ten (4) day breach period to this selection process.
