This is a ten (10) month fixed term, part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2020
Tammin Primary School (PS) is seeking a motivated staff member, capable of working within a positive team environment to provide a well-structured teaching program for Upper Primary – Year 5 to Year 6.
The successful applicant will have a strong knowledge of all key elements of the academic and social emotional curriculum. You will be required to work collaboratively with other team members to cross-set in core subjects to support learning requirements at all levels from Year 3 to Year 6. High accountability processes with a focus on student outcomes to increase the positive impact of teaching on students, including student learning, and engagement in learning and wellbeing. An understanding of trauma informed practice and social emotional learning is an essential element to providing a safe and supportive work environment for students and staff.
Tammin PS is a pivotal point in the community, fostering a safe and positive learning environment where everyone looks after each other, feel respected, understood and encouraged to become strong active participants in the community. The school provides a whole school approach to learning to ensure that our students achieve positive social and academic skills and knowledge. The school promotes resilient behaviours, respect and self-worth through inclusive practices and positive communication and collaboration between parents, students and staff.
Tammin PS is located 180 kilometres east of Perth and is part of the Wheatbelt Education Region and the Avon Schools Network. Our school first commenced in 1900 and was established in its current location in 1969. Our school has experienced an average enrolment of 60 over the past five years with students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school currently has a three class configuration. We are proud of our friendly and caring environment where we build lifelong learners. Our student population consists of town families and farming families who are serviced daily by two school bus routes.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
