This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2020 with possible extension (12 months).
South Newman Primary School (PS) is seeking a Program Coordinator – Martu Mobility – Case management for transient students to join the team to implement the Martu Mobility Strategy pilot. This initiative forms a part of the Pilbara Partnerships for Student Success project, funded by the Royalties for Regions Pilbara Education project.
The role of Project Coordinator involves identifying project management priorities working in consultation with the Steering Committee. This role requires you to build and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders, and to liaise and negotiate with a variety of personnel from within and external to the Department. You will be required to monitor, review and evaluate the effectiveness of project outcomes and identify continuous improvement opportunities, including developing and maintain relevant information, monitoring of human and physical resources.
This role will entail implementing alternative attendance arrangements, and processes to enable the sharing of student progress and attendance information to enable schools to support students to continue to learn regardless of where they are attending.
This position will require travel to schools and other sites within the Pilbara Education Region, four wheel drives (4WD) vehicles will be utilised and the successful applicant must hold or obtain a current RIIVEH305E Operate and maintain a 4WD Vehicle.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Ability to provide strategic leadership, deal effectively with change and generate innovative solutions related to the effective delivery of case management for transient Martu students.
- Extensive skills and experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of learning programs and evidence-based instructional programs at school, regional and system levels.
- Professional knowledge and understanding of innovative teaching practices and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of education outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Highly developed verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to undertake high-level consultations, collaboration and negotiations to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve initiative objectives.
- Well developed communication and presentation skills, including experience in preparing reports.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
