Appointment Pool
Arbor Grove Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Teachers K-6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2021.
Arbor Grove PS is seeking enthusiastic and talented teachers with success working in a school with the challenges of being low socio-economic, with students from a range of diverse backgrounds and Indigenous students. As a member of Arbor Grove PS you will demonstrate a commitment to student engagement through strong explicit teaching practice and knowledge of best practice classroom management strategies.
Suitable applicants will possess a strong focus on explicit teaching, the use of research based programs, use data to inform their teaching and demonstrate a commitment to engaging in collaboration and professional learning communities.
Arbor Grove PS is committed to the principles of the Positive Behaviour Framework, Teaching Sprints, play based learning in the early years of schooling, and whole school programs that deliver strong outcomes for our students and wider community. We engage actively with Community Partners and demonstrated experience dealing with outside agencies would be advantageous.
Arbor Grove PS has a strong focus on the development of the whole student and enhancing the social and emotional growth of students. Staff at Arbor Grove PS regularly go above and beyond through the offering of extra curricula opportunities for students.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
