This is a thirty-six (36) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2020
Halls Creek District High School (DHS) is looking to appoint a highly motivated and energetic Teacher for Humanities and Social Sciences.
The successful applicant will have a passion for secondary education and the desire to impart their skills and knowledge as a member of our Humanities, Social Sciences and Languages (HASSL) team. You will need to be self-motivated, prepared to enthusiastically embrace new opportunities and work proactively within a team environment.
As a committed educator, you will demonstrate real care and consideration for students with the ability to build positive relationships. In addition, the successful applicant will demonstrate highly effective teaching practices and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice. An excellent knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum, and a capacity to deliver content in an engaging manner to instil our students with a passion for literacy, numeracy and the subject area are also desirable qualities of suitable applicants.

Located in the Central Kimberley Region between Broome and Kununurra, most students come from the town of Halls Creek and the local surrounding communities.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
