Samson Primary school (PS) are seeking to appoint a Teacher – Kindergarten to join their friendly team.
We are seeking a trained Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher who has a great understanding of the curriculum and practices in Kindergarten programs. It would be highly desirable for the successful applicant to have understanding of behaviour managements for students in Kindergarten. You will work collaboratively with ECE staff in a kindergarten setting including Education Assistants.
Samson PS have very friendly professional group of staff working towards implementing literacy programs to assist students to develop basic skills, e.g. Cracking the Code, Letters and Sounds, Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA). You will be able to implement Paul Swan mathematics strategies and games to assist in the development of numeracy skills.
Samson PS was officially opened in May 1987. It is located south of the Swan River at the eastern end of the Fremantle area. Adjacent to the Samson Recreation Centre, the school is an aesthetically inviting set of buildings, situated in beautifully kept grounds which feature grass trees, eucalypts, rose gardens and extensive grassed areas.
The teaching/learning program is effectively maintained by an experienced, capable staff, most of whom have attained 'Senior Teacher' status. The social and emotional development of students is given high priority through the teaching of virtues (values). Technology is used extensively as a tool to support the teaching/learning program with Interactive Whiteboards in all primary classes. The school is fully networked with 16 desk top computers housed in the library, with four desk top computers in each of the 11 classrooms.
Samson Primary has developed an excellent pastoral care program with virtues, rights and responsibilities underpin all that happens and as a result our behaviour management issues are rarely serious. Experience working with students with ASD is essential as program students transition into mainstream classes across the school from the Specialist Learning Program for students with ASD.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
