Nyabing Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cleaner – Working Alone to join their team.
As a Cleaner, you would maintain a clean environment which includes internal and external areas, ensuring rubbish bins are emptied and in charge of maintaining supplies. As the successful applicant you will possess good communication skills, have a high work ethic and be able to work unsupervised.
As the suitable applicant you will carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting and rubbish removal to ensure the school maintains a maximum standard of hygiene. In addition, to this, you will carry out external cleaning duties, including the sweeping of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs and other general cleaning duties.

Nyabing PS is located 320 kilometres south east of Perth and is located within the Wheatbelt Education Region. Katanning is the nearest major centre, 60 kilometres west. The school services the families that live within the town of Nyabing and the surrounding grain and sheep farming areas.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
