Kelmscott Senior High School (SHS) is looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic teacher to take on a dual role as a Health and Physical Education and Workplace Learning Teacher.
The successful applicant will have the ability to teach Physical Education Studies to an ATAR level, whilst experience and qualifications to deliver Outdoor Education will be highly desirable. You will be adept at implementing the Western Australian Health and Physical Education curriculum for students in Years 7 to 10. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and expertise in the context of the Health and Physical Education curriculum and pedagogy is required, as well the ability to understand instructional and curriculum design.Innovative and contemporary practices are required to celebrate and promote learning for all students. Self-reflective practices focusing on quality teaching and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment are essential
This role involves the common goal of inspiring students to achieve to their maximum academic, social and emotional potential. To work effectively in the role of workplace learning a considerable degree of flexibility and ability to proactively plan for and prioritise will be essential. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.

Kelmscott SHS is a school of opportunity for students offering endorsed Specialist Programs in Agriculture, Music and the Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entrance Program. The school also offers a range of Kelmscott Extension Programs (KEP) in Mathematics, Science, English and Humanities and Social Sciences. We are only one of two schools to provide Gifted and Talented online to rural areas. Teaching experience with ADPWL will be well looked upon, as well as being able to exhibit innovation and creativity in classroom practices and cater for student diversity.
Working in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area, you will lead ongoing improvements in pedagogy, curriculum and programming across Years 7 to 12 and support the HPE learning area to achieve set targets in the School Business Plan. We are seeking a highly committed, adaptable and collaborative individual who can work effectively as part of a team, is motivated by our school vision and wants to play an active role in driving this vision alongside our talented team of HPE teachers. As the successful applicant, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences for students. The applicant will have the required knowledge and skills to differentiate your teaching and apply a broad range of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Applicants will be ‘relationships focussed’ and committed to building a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom learning environment that promotes in student’s a genuine passion for HPE and successful achievement of outcomes. As the successful applicant, you will be ready to actively participate in professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on their classroom practice to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching and ongoing improvement.
We are seeking applicants with knowledge and skills to utilise systemic data such as Student Achievement Information System (SAIS), National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) and Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) to address individual student learning needs. Highly desirable that the applicant can work effectively with the community and industry personnel. You will have the qualities to foster and build sustainable partnerships with key stakeholders.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
