Belmont City College is seeking a highly professional, passionate and innovative English Teacher to join our team.
As the successful applicant you will have a demonstrated understanding of the Years 7 to 10 WA Curriculum and Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) English courses and the ability to successfully develop and deliver programs in this area. Teaching ESL in the Mainstream Classroom (TESMC) training is highly desirable. We are seeking a teacher who is student and relationship focused, enthusiastic and innovative with the capacity to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful experiences while catering for diverse student learning needs. Ideally, you will be able to integrate a growth mindset into your teaching and your approach to young people.
The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and will have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to our school community. You will utilise best classroom practice whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods, and be a dedicated, passionate and highly effective educator, with a deep understanding of and experience with a diverse range of student learning needs and styles, and will inspire students to achieve to their potential.
Belmont City College has modern facilities, and is set in the heart of the City of Belmont which provides the backdrop for our many innovative programs. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
