Borden Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and efficient Cleaner in Charge to maintain a clean and safe working environment for all staff and students. Borden PS is a small, friendly, nurturing school with supportive staff and enthusiastic students. Borden is situated 380kms south-east of Perth and 120kms north-east of Albany. There are 21 students currently enrolled at Borden PS, mostly travelling from out of town in the surrounding farming area. The town has a small shop, post office and a tavern.
The successful applicant will be responsible for liaising with the relevant line manager on cleaning matters, carrying out cleaning of internal and external areas and ensuring emptying of all rubbish containers. As Cleaner in Charge, you would carry out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning. In addition to this, you would also carry out external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs and other general cleaning.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
