Bremer Bay Primary School (PS) is seeking a Gardener – Handyperson to join their team.
As a Gardener - Handyperson you will be required to keep the school grounds and gardens in a clean and tidy condition to a high standard. The successful applicant will be required to carry out minor repairs around the school and maintain tools and equipment in a serviceable condition. The suitable applicant will have good communication skills, the ability to manage duties efficiently, demonstrate a high level of organisation and be self-motivated. A sound knowledge of safe work practices is highly desirable.
Bremer Bay PS is located approximately 500km south of Perth and 180km east of Albany. Bremer Bay is situated in a pristine environment surrounded by beautiful white beaches and the Fitzgerald River National Park. Established in 1953, we cater for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6.
Our school is well established and maintained, providing an excellent educational environment for both students and staff. The school comprises of an administration building, library, school community room, upper primary classroom and a purpose built early childhood classroom. Other facilities include a synthetic grass surface court, undercover junior playground, two soft fall playgrounds and grassed oval are some of the facilities available for students to utilise during their recess and lunch times.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
