Donnybrook District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated Teacher - Secondary Generalist to join their collaborative team. They are looking for an experienced teacher with leadership aspirations. This unique position allows for the successful applicant to utilise their high level curriculum and pedagogical knowledge in a classroom context, whilst also undertaking a leadership role within the Administration team (with appropriate remuneration provided). You will have the capacity to deliver highly engaging programs that are relevant to our students' needs. With exemplary interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the school community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
In addition to being a highly organised, flexible and competent teacher, experience in explicit teaching would be an advantage. You will be expected to have some leadership experience to bring to the position. Pastoral care roles and/or student services experience would be ideal, given the school's context and needs. The successful applicant will be expected to model and mentor other staff with regard to supporting student engagement and performance and ensure the ongoing implementation of our school’s Positive Behaviour Support system.
Donnybrook DHS currently caters for approximately 450 students across two campuses. The successful applicant will be largely based at the Senior Campus, but will be expected to work collaboratively with the Upper Primary teachers at the Junior Campus to support the students transition to Secondary school and continuity of learning.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
