Appointment Pool
The Schools Division is seeking to establish a pool of highly motivated and committed Directors Public School Review for appointments to fixed term, full-time vacancies which may arise during 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2020.
Suitable applicants will be responsible for leading, managing and conducting public school reviews of school performance. They will lead reviews seeking evidence about how, in the pursuit of successful students, schools create and sustain conditions for effective schooling, and, select context-specific teams and lead them in all phases of each review or enquiry. They will work with Regional Executive Directors to ensure legislative and accountability compliance activities are a key component of the Department’s school quality assurance and accountability framework. In addition, they will contribute to the development of Departmental policy and planning by providing advice and feedback on emerging trends and issues in relation to service delivery and support to schools.
Public School Accountability is Departmental strategy to strengthen public confidence in the quality of public school education in Western Australia. The Public School Accountability team has a specific role to conduct reviews to provide assurance that a school is operating effectively and delivering high-quality education to its students. The review will acknowledge achievements of the school and provide feedback to support the principal and staff with their improvement planning.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching, have school leadership experience and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia; and
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
