Morley Primary School (PS) has an opportunity for a motivated, dedicated and highly skilled Years 3-6 teacher to join our team. Morley PS has a small but committed and professional staff who are working together to move the school through an exciting process of renewal.
The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to and engaging in connected practice and whole school approaches. Applicants will need to demonstrate an understanding of explicit teaching and structured lesson design which incorporates a series of clear steps and transitions between them, and scaffolds learning to build students’ knowledge and skills. They should also use data to inform their teaching. A commitment to ongoing professional learning and development including observation and feedback is important.
Morley PS is beginning to use Learning Sprints to further our capacity to continuously improve and adapt. Applicants should demonstrate their capacity to contribute to a strong collegial culture with a commitment to continual professional improvement and high expectations of students.
We are looking for a teacher who creates a classroom where students are engaged, challenged, feel safe to take risks and are supported to learn. The ability to foster and maintain positive communication with parents in regards to student performance as well as build rapport with the community is essential.

Our school is in the heart of the Morley suburb, next to the Galleria Shopping and Coventry Market precincts. Our school population of approximately 165 students is culturally diverse with over 50% of students from language backgrounds other than English.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
