This is an eighteen (18) month fixed term, full time position commencing January 2020
The Communications and Media division are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and solutions focused individual who can facilitate the review and migration of Department content to the public facing website.
The successful applicant will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including consultation, presentation and facilitation skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels. This role will undertake a review of the Department’s public website information architecture and apply best practice techniques and processes to ensure a consistent and compliant content environment. You will need exceptional planning, project management and analytical skills and be able to provide specialist communications advice and support to business areas.
As the successful applicant you with be providing professional learning to business areas on best practice when identifying and communicating content for an online environment and provide training in the use of the platform.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Highly developed oral communication and interpersonal skills, including consultation, presentation and facilitation skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with proven investigative skills and ability to interpret data and provide innovative thinking in developing and implementing projects.
- Highly developed writing skills with ability to develop instructional and support materials and communicate effectively online.
- Highly developed project management skills and ability to contribute to team processes and outcomes

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
