This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency.
Ocean Reef Senior High School is seeking an experienced, innovative and dedicated Technologies teacher to further develop a culture of excellence in teaching and learning within Engineering and Woodwork contexts.
To be successful in this role, applicants will demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to teach these subjects across years 7 to 12. Applicants will ideally have recent experience teaching Certificate II Engineering Pathways and are able to implement the requirements of the Western Australian Curriculum in Design and Digital Technologies.
Successful applicants will be proactive and passionate about Technologies, they will be able to teach across all year levels and have experience in teaching and implementing Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. It is highly desirable that applicants have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Certificate II (or higher) in Engineering Pathways.
Applicants will support the implementation of the school business plan, be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives and have a strong evidenced based teaching approach. The successful applicant will have effective interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Technologies team. Effective classroom management, the ability to differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and promote an environment of active and positive learning are also a strong focus for this position.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
