Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH607329
Appointment Pool
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
We are looking for teachers with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to help build and maintain a school culture which underpins professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
Suitable applicants will be positive professionals who are able to work effectively within collaborative teams, with an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum. We are seeking teachers who can work in a cooperative environment to improve student outcomes, reflect on their own performance, contribute to staff development and support our distributed leadership structure. As a teacher of our school, you will have a passion for explicit teaching and a commitment to implementing school strategies, as well as strong pastoral care and behaviour management skills.
As an Independent Public School, East Hamilton Hill PS has a vibrant community where lasting and collaborative partnerships are being developed. Suitable applicants will need to contribute to a positive team culture in our small school (approx 210 students) and enjoy the challenge of working at our school which has been recognised by the Department of Education as an exemplary school through an independent study. We have a strong sense of pride in the school community in relation to the school and its achievements. Parents and visitors often comment the school has a great feel to it, similar to a small country school where all staff, parents and students are known and acknowledged by all school community members.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
Applications will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered. It is therefore recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.
Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. Applicants may be appointed to a vacancy based on the qualification being completed via the Leap program.
The Department is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
