This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020 with possible extension and/or permanency
Merredin College is seeking to appoint two enthusiastic, motivated and highly skilled Primary Teachers. Successful applicants will be required to work collaboratively with their team and contribute to whole school approaches and directions. It is desirable that applicants demonstrate a high level of collaborative practice together with interpersonal skills to enable effective participation and engagement within the school.

Merredin College is looking for teachers who have expert skills and knowledge to enhance our vision of being the benchmark in rural education. Suitable applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and high levels of emotional intelligence.
It is highly desirable for the successful applicant to have experience in a wide repertoire of strategies including: cooperative learning; reflective teaching and feedback processes; sound classroom management based on restorative practices; demonstrated success in implementing a Literacy Block using Talk4Writing, Words their Way and Seven Steps; and incorporating digital technologies into the curriculum using iPads for creation and with previous knowledge and understanding of programs that develop good mental health and social skills.
Merredin College is located 256 kilometres east of Perth in the Central Wheatbelt, and is a lighthouse rural school providing a high quality educational program for 600 students from K-12. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
