The Integration Build and Deployment Directorate are seeking to establish a pool of Business Systems Analysts for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2020 and 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2020 and 2021.

ICT Integration Build and Deployment is responsible for the design, development, administration and support for a large, diverse portfolio of critical applications used within the Department.

With a demonstrated background in applications business analysis, you will provide exceptional and professional value and service to our stakeholders.  As part of a busy team, you will work with business representatives, architects, other analysts and senior development teams to assess the architectural impact and detail functional requirements to 100+ bespoke/COTS Oracle, Java–based and emerging SaaS Microsoft applications.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Analyse and translate stakeholder needs from business requirements into implementable software requirements, configurations and solutions.
  • Deliver functional requirements to development team providing appropriate documentation/artefacts as required.
  • Analyse business processes, making an active contribution to the improvement of these processes through inputs to the design, development, modification and maintenance of systems designs.
  • Ensures technical requirements are covered and negotiates implementation with the business, adhering to the DoE ICT technology and design choices.
  • Accountable for self-organisation and tracking completion of assigned tasks including successful delivery of project/development milestones.
  • Analyse existing systems to understand their features and functionality and how they are utilised within the organisation.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:

  1. Highly developed skills and experience in the development, support, maintenance and implementation of information systems and their application in a large and complex organisation.
  2. Substantial skills and experience in writing technical specifications, design and testing documentation.
  3. Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills that demonstrate experience in applying business analysis principles and practices to a complex technical environment.
  4. Well-developed project management skills with the ability to provide high quality services to client management.
  5. Highly developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and liaison skills with an ability to work with individuals at all levels.

  • complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
