Ashburton Drive Primary School (PS) is looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join its dedicated team.
The successful applicant should have knowledge of and a commitment to implementing Letters and Sounds, Brightpath and Talk for Writing programs. Experience with the National Quality Standards would be highly desirable but not essential. Ideally, you would show a commitment to whole school practices with experience in the delivery of iSTAR lessons and demonstrate exemplary professional conduct. We are looking for an educator willing to establish and maintain strong links with parents/carers and community members, as well enter into collaborative engagement with all staff.
In order to be a successful primary teacher, you should be a passionate and collaborative educator, willing to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment. You will be able to embrace and implement our whole school approaches and display confidence in utilising Information and Communication Technology in the classroom. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong knowledge of all key elements of curriculum and pedagogy as well as an ability to inspire students to develop a passion for learning in vibrant, engaging and supportive classrooms.
Ashburton Drive PS staff have developed significant improvement strategies and endeavour to be innovate and focused on students' development. We are located in the south eastern metropolitan suburb of Gosnells. The current student enrolment is 496 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school has a staffing allocation of a Principal, two Deputy Principals, 26 teachers and support staff members such as education assistants, school officer, cleaners and a gardener/handyperson. Our school aims to develop children who are self-motivated, independent learners, with the confidence to use their academic, social and physical skills and knowledge to make personally satisfying and worthwhile contributions in their present and future societal roles.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
