This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020.
Collie Senior High School is seeking a Teacher – Humanities - English to join our caring and supportive team for 2020.
The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and be capable of creating high quality learning experiences in their classroom. They will possess care and consideration for students, display effective behaviour management practices and show a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice. Knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum and the ability to differentiate for the individual needs of students, resulting in the provision of engaging learning experiences is crucial. Our recent Independent School Review commended our whole school focus on Literacy and this position will require the continued implementation of this focus. Experience in assisting students to succeed in Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) is also desirable.

As a prospective teacher, integrating ICT within the curriculum will be seen as desirable.
Collie SHS is situated in a very engaging country town just over two hour’s drive south of Perth with great access to the Southwest. There are a wide variety of outdoor activities available in and around the town and it is an excellent starting point to explore this part of the State. Government Regional Officer housing (GROH) is currently available and the position also attracts a district allowance in addition to regular salary. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a quality school within the Southwest.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
