Melville Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and collaborative Program Coordinator – Student Services Manager Senior School (Year 10 – 12), to join our dedicated leadership team. The successful applicant will demonstrate commitment to supporting student achievement by fostering a positive approach to student health and wellbeing. The role of Program Coordinator - Student Services Manager Senior School (Year 10 – 12) is dynamic, strategic, proactive, and hands on and the successful applicant will be focused on the achievement of key strategic outcomes associated with the role. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Deputy Principal Student Services, the Student Services Team and Executive Team to develop, manage and effectively implement relevant strategies, programs and initiatives to promote the school's core values, strategic direction and the development of healthy, confident and successful students.
As Program Coordinator - Student Services Manager Senior School (Year 10 – 12), you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on students in relation to (but not limited to), attendance, behaviour, social/emotional wellbeing, Students at Educational Risk (SAER) and academic performance across Year 10, 11 and 12. The successful applicant will have extensive data analysis skills and a strong ability to use data to inform planning and to identify strategies that will lead to better outcomes for students and ultimately drive school improvement.
This role is an integral part of our Student Services Team and the successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to motivate, lead by example and positively influence both students and staff. We are seeking to appoint a strong leader with outstanding case management, conflict resolution and positive behaviour management skills. They will lead the development of documented plans including individual attendance, risk and improved behaviour. You will possess a well-developed capacity for risk-management, including critical incidents. The Program Coordinator - Student Services Manager Senior School contributes to the development and implementation of the Melville SHS Business Plan and an underpinning Student Services Operational Plan through participative decision making, including assisting in policy development and establishing and maintaining systems and processes pertaining to Students Services as a department within the school. The successful applicant will provide professional leadership and advice to a range of leaders across the school. There is considerable liaison with students and parents and you will have a proven ability to develop effective partnerships with all key stakeholders and with external agencies to support the very best outcomes for students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work-related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provideevidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
