Collie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a proactive and dedicated individual to join their team as an Education Support Teacher. We seek an individual who can cater for the individual needs of each student in a caring and inclusive way. Our students require Individual Pathway Planning which includes the opportunity for them to achieve their potential and be well placed for post school destinations.
The school offers a range of ASDAN courses to provide a comprehensive curriculum to all students. Familiarity with these and the requirements around them will be beneficial to this position. To be successful in this role you will be able to engage students in hands on activities and project based learning in keeping with our focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The successful applicant should also be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively within the Education Support Area and work effectively with other staff, including Education Assistants. Providing a safe, efficient and effective learning environment is a key priority for this position.
As a school promoting Positive Behaviour Supports the ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in providing an engaging, student-centred curriculum encouraging students to be their best. Collie SHS is situated in a very engaging country town just over two hour’s drive south of Perth with great access to the Southwest. There are a wide variety of outdoor activities available in and around the town and it is an excellent starting point to explore this part of the State. Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) housing is currently available and the position also attracts a district allowance. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a quality school within the Southwest.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
