This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020

Butler College is one of the Departments Integrated Site models and caters for 1700 students with 140 of these having a Disability Allocation resource. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, innovative and enthusiastic Education Support Teacher who has skills in both High Needs and the Mild to Moderate range.

The successful applicant will employ excellent interpersonal skills and be capable of providing high quality learning experiences for all students. As a member of the Butler College academic staff, you will be expected to continually explore the latest in teaching and learning pedagogy and to introduce new ideas and technologies. A knowledge of the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), Eye Gaze and Communication devices, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), Coding and Virtual Reality will be an expectation; along with appropriate understanding of Community Access.

Each initiative and communication is carried out with the expectation that these principles underpin the dialogue and actions of each individual. Since its Foundation Year in 2013, the College has developed a solid foundation of strong community values. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

TRAINING
