Ellenbrook Secondary College (SC) is seeking an engaging, dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join their staff.
The successful applicant will have highly developed professional and practical knowledge in Design and Technology across years 7 to 12. They will have the ability to work collaboratively with others, engage positively with students and strive to meet the different learning needs of all students. The ability to teach in the area of Furniture Making and/or Building and Constructions at a Certificate level is highly desirable, but not essential.
This role requires strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to develop and promote school values, ethos and priorities across the school community. You will demonstrate quality teaching by working collaboratively in a team environment with students, teachers and the school community to support students in achieving their potential.
The successful applicant will engage in relevant professional learning and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, working as a member of a vibrant and enthusiastic school team.
Ellenbrook SC has a highly regarded and supported Pre Apprenticeship program in the Building and Construction area. The school has positive relationships with Industry groups and Industry funds. The school actively participates in Worldskills competitions with multiple medal winners across both Bricklaying and Carpentry trade areas in state competions as well as a National Bronze mrdal winner Many of our students gain apprenticeships from their participation in the program.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
