Appointment Pool
Gwynne Park Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for appointments to fixed term and permanent, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants will be highly motivated; student and relationship focused and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences, integrating current digital technologies. Suitable applicants will have expertise in planning and delivering individual student and evidence based programs to ensure Individual Education Plan (IEP) objectives are achieved, as well as advanced skills in developing and implementing effective behaviour support plans and strategies for students with a diverse range of co-morbid disabilities, complex communication needs and challenging behaviours.
Suitable applicants will have the interpersonal team and communication skills to effectively lead a team of Education Assistants working in support roles. Suitable applicants will have capacity to work effectively with students, teachers and the campus and wider community to ensure rigour, resilience and pride, allowing students to achieve to their full potential and flourish.
Parents and families are partners in the educational process at Gwynne Park ESC and the Deputy is in constant liaison with members of the leadership team as well as families to support and promote strong outcomes for individual students. It is desirable for the successful applicant to demonstrate capacity in developing and maintaining partnerships and community links to enhance the school programs and individual student achievement.
Gwynne Park ESC is a 2017 Independant Public School and is located on the same campus at Gwynne Park Primary School in the suburb of Brookdale. It is a purpose-built school with specialist facilities, equipment, sensory and therapy rooms, bike tracks, flying fox and engagement playgrounds. We have a current enrolment of 70 children across Kindergarten – Year 6.
Our school upholds a positive behaviour support approach incorporating Applied Behaviour principles and maintains a focus on purposeful planned intervention to enhance self-regulation, self-management and independence towards successful attainment of skills for life. Our staff develop positive partnerships with colleagues, families and the community and actively contribute towards building and maintaining a productive, inclusive and progressive team learning environment.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
